Once you get over the initial shock that not every track has their trademark dark beats and massive breakdowns, but the album does in fact contain actual "songs", you start to realise that 'Attack Decay Sustain Release' is in fact a lot more than "those three good singles with some other stuff around it".

'ADSR' is what the early nineties would have sounded like if we violated the music with compressors the size of Optimus Prime. Deeper throbbing analogue bass lines, pounding 808s, wonky 303s and some great vocal performances come together to form what is oh so rare these days, a great dance LP.

Excluding the 3 outstanding singles 'It's The Beat', 'Tits and Acid' and underground anthem 'Hustler', highlights include wobbly vocoder-fest 'Hotdog' and sparkly jump-along 'Wooden'. Even 'Love', a track with a lyrical message out dated since the early seventies, and my personal musical 'faux pas': slap bass, captures the addictive center of the brain after a few listens. Not what was expected, but just as delightful.
