Peachfuzz - So Here We Are Tonight
Owain Paciuszko 23/06/2008
Rating: 2/5
Opening with the immediate - in an average kind of way - 'Lost Weekend', that has all the youthful exuberance of a Status Quo reunion special; this is a somewhat dissapointingly lacklustre effort from Bridgend's Peachfuzz. There are whispers of many so-so rock bands and huge hollering shots of similarity to Stereophonics, a band that managed to hit the scene on a high and rapidly decline into banality. Unfortunately Peachfuzz have started at the wrong end, but, hopefully they can become great as their career wears on? On the 'strength' of this album though I'm not going to be holding my breath. There appears to be an undemanding demographic for this kind of slightly hollow indie-rock, but there's something unimaginative and clichéd about the songs herein that just leaves me bored and longing to put something else on.
