Faced with a blank page in front of me and the prospect of talking about Sigur Ros's new opus, it feels like whatever I say might be something verging on the "biased". Because when listening to Sigur RoS, there's an overwhelming feeling of being grateful that you're merely in the presence of a such quality sound. Above all its Jonsi's voice that makes them so special becoming an embrace so tight you can feel it shake your bones.

Dare I say it, but the new Sigur Ros album is experimental? You're probably aware of Sigur Ros as one of the quintessential musical experimenters of modern times, they're to blame for creating down the years a very specific yet eclectic -stand alone- genre of music. But they've gone a step further with 'Með Suð í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust (With a Buzz in Our Ears We Play Endlessly) that sounds positively experimental compared to their established style.

I'll try and tell you a little bit about specific song. 'Ára bátur' has an epic ending that comes directly from the soundtrack of an emotional movie, for a change (?!) for Sigur Ros. Or 'Festival' which will be probably the only time a 9 minutes piece won't weigh heavily upon your ears but will simply make you hope for more! In final song "All Right" the first song Jonsi's sung in English, it's an ending but not a single songs end. It's not the chapter's end either. It's the sound of a very fine leather cover that is folded carefully and with all due emphasis closing a whole little world

Chris Martin said (probably the one thing I'll always praise him for) 'Sigur Ros are currently the best band in the world.' So if you even don't trust this little Londoner girl (most of you) would like to trust what comes from Mr Martin in person? Believe me, he's probably right.

What I failed to find here though is the Hoppipolla or Njosnavelin of the day. A track that stands alone, a star shining even brighter then the others. Ever more than their other albums this record's strength is the way the music flows, no single song can really escape the centripetal force that calls and melts everything together without a chance for any of them to spurt out becoming *the* brightest star. The amniotic fluid that flows through these eleven songs make fills the air space giving you a non-invasive soundtrack to fifty five minutes of your life. This is Sigur Ros presenting their newest soundscape. It's so much more than just another album.
