Max Tundra - Parallax Error Beheads You

Multi-instrumental musician, songwriter, producer Max 'Ben Jacobs' Tundra releases his third album for Domino Records. The album is waiting in the wings for October, as well as a support slot for Hot Chip throughout the month too. Busy, busy.

The hustle and bustle of a sack-load of different sounds clout your ear drums. It is full of ideas, sometimes it's overloaded, sounding too busy for one sitting. However interesting, this is more of a conceptual dance-based album stacked with a sound conquest for trying new sounds.

The indie-disco flavour 'Will Get Fooled Again' is a gargantuan tune, the likes that could beat the wrath of Godzilla and King Kong together in a bare knuckle fight to the death. It is a unique creation. One that strokes dance music whilst tickling console sounds, flashing at electronica in amongst brushing its teeth with a synthesizer and dabbing itself with a flannel of many other sounds.

This highlights the conceptual nature, with the likes of 'My Night Out' being more of a delicate, chilled ensemble into the estranged noise of 'Orphaned'. Then it gets weird when 'The Entertainment' flows gently into a dance mutated foray of unlikely sounds. The Gary Numan-esque 'Number Our Days' follows suit leaving you feeling like you've been slapped, until you turn around and realize that no one is there. Maybe a little overkill with the multiple sound experiments but, interesting any way you look at it.
