Taking emo and putting a Radiohead spin on it sounds like an intriguing concept, and it delivers in that respect. In all honesty, Cyril Snear don't sound like most other bands you've heard. But the nasally delivered vocals, coupled with the sudden descent into noise rock at the end of 'Alopecia is A Killer' is nothing short of disappointing - not to mention the dour and yelping lyrics. On the other hand, 'Mind Expansion Techniques Pt. 1' features what sounds remarkably like “Sweeney Todd is gonna fuck you over”, which is a: true, and b: brilliant.
