This Midlands foursome is infectious. The riffs, lyrics and melodies bind together and create an injection of some of the most impressive and memorable pop/rock tracks to come out of England in a long time. It might be an exaggeration to say that they're the next Oasis, but it appears the new era of Brit-pop might finally have arrived on the shoulders of Page 44.

That's not to say this band isn't without its flaws. Page 44 has a clear American punk rock influence and it's a shame to hear such addictive British music accompanied by American punk-vocals. Elements of Sum 41, Fall Out Boy and Jimmy Eat World emerge from the delicate intros and compelling choruses. But don't confuse influence with plagiarism. This is an honest, original piece of music that contributes a great deal to the British indie-rock scene. A dead cert' on the 'albums to buy' list, once they deservedly get signed.

So whilst Page 44's myspace page hails “This is Thunderpop. You are in the Eye of the Storm.” A quick suggestion; throw caution to the wind and jump in.
