This little treat from Leeds fivesome The Smokestacks is a breath of fresh air amongst a pile of mediocre CD's fast clogging up my house. There's some weird over-compressed thing going on in the production giving the record this nicely epic feel, sometimes reminiscent of a rock version of ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. I can hear a bit of Pixies in them too, which is always a pleasure.
