Ratface - Enough Ratface
Owain Paciuszko 23/02/2009
Rating: 3/5
There's an entertaining swagger to this hip-hop album from Ratface that means it ends up sounding like Jamie T being attacked by The Mighty Boosh with a hint of the crackpot lyrics of Supreme Vagabond Craftsman.
Though Ratface's delivery is brash the tunes themselves are buoyant and catchy, and the balance between the two is held well across these nine tracks. But whilst the album sustains a pleasant pace and keeps your head nodding Ratface never seems to find that track that perfectly showcases his talents, marrying his delightfully rich lyrics to a melody just so. Instead you're left feeling that this is a solid record, but a pre-cursor to a more complete, fully realised album.
