The Gin Riots - The Polka

Owain Paciuszko 17/03/2009

Here's a sprightly single from The Libertines, except they seem to have changed their name to The Gin Riots and, on occasion, they've borrowed influences from Franz Ferdinand of all things. Nevertheless, this is a buoyant and catchy number, but like a frozen, microwave meal it may look nourishing and full of flavour on the surface but ultimately it's all watery sauce and flavour-free chunks. Probably great fun to mosh to, but on CD when it ends, it's gone.
