Second Head - Head First

Wonderfully cheap, cobbled together packaging encouraging you to 'Copy and Post' surrounds this debut EP by London three piece. Armed with two bass guitars and drums, alongside Emma Browning's sneering lead vocal, they create a delicious clatter on opening track Starglow which has a distinctly European art-rock flavour somewhere between The Victorian English Gentlemen's Club and The Raveonettes.

Second track I Don't Love You Anyway is a slower tune, with Browning seductively cooing the title over varying atmospheric squeals and yowls like an Air remix of Land of Talk. Closing track If You Want I Can Go follows a similar formula, over a slightly sleazy blanket of churning and scuzzy bass.

It's ever so slight, a little dog-eared around the edges, but not without charms, and whilst the opening track with its DIY Das Wanderlust-stylings is a more successful beast than the other two more indie-rock offerings it bodes well for a deliberately lo-fi, home-made trio.
