The XX, Male Bonding, Shrag, Bombay Bicycle Club, Dananananaykroyd - Offset - The 5 Bands You Must See

Rhian Daly 02/09/2009

In a matter of days, the 'boutique' event of the summer will be upon us as the hipsters behind Offset and their followers decamp to Hainault Forest for a weekend of drinking and dancing. The full line-up can be viewed on the official website (where you can still buy tickets too!) but for now, here's GIITTV's pick of the 5 bands we think will be the highlights of the two days.

The xx

Currently loved by everyone - even your grandma - The xx are pretty much a no-brainer. We're guessing that such a flawless record is only going to transfer into the perfect festival appearance. Expect goosebumps and spine tingling moments for the rest of your days.

Shrag
Beloved of Ryan Jarman, this Brighton art rock quartet will make you dance and giggle simultaneously. Case in point:

Male Bonding
Having just signed to the infamous Sub Pop record label, you could say things are going pretty well for Male Bonding right now. Noisy, brash, fun and endorsed by the label that brought us grunge. What more could you possibly want?

Bombay Bicycle Club
Following the release of their debut album earlier this year, Bombay Bicycle Club seem to be gradually building up momentum. No doubt this weekend they'll give yet another enthusiastic and terribly endearing performance, being as they are all wide eyed innocence and youthful exuberance.

Dananananaykroyd
Will they do the wall of cuddles? Will they just make you dance in the middle of a circle like you're at a school disco? There's only one way to find out but whatever they do, trust us when we say it'll be the most fun you have all weekend.
