Following the re-release of the fantastically remastered Exile on Main Street earlier in the year, the 1972 concert film Ladies & Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones gets it's own re-release in an apt complimentary fashion.

The film contrasts the big budget Hollywood-sheen of Martin Scorsese's Shine a Light with it's gritty, grainy feel (despite the 'remastered' tag) but trumps the Hollywood directors homage everywhere else with the perfected and flawless fifteen track rendition. The set list is a wonderfully constructed collection of the band's best-known and beloved tracks showing that, in hindsight, the tour was a culmination of the great Rolling Stones '69 - '72 golden era.

Recorded across the four nights the band spent performing in Fort Worth in Houston, Texas, whilst celebrating and promoting the release of Exile on Main Street, Ladies & Gentlemen actually shows the Stones at the height of their career and of their status as the biggest and best rock 'n' roll band in history. After releasing the three great albums Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street one after the other between '69 and '72 the shows marked the 6th and biggest US Tour the band had undertaken.
