Brett Anderson, Love Is Dead - Love Is Dead
Dan Round 05/03/2007
Rating: 3/5
Ok, so things haven't quite gone to plan over the past few years for Brett Anderson. After the final two dismal Suede albums and a mixed reunion with Bernard Butler in The Tears, he has plans to rekindle his career on his own. This first solo finds the sensitive chorus being catchy with strings helping to give an added emotive elegance. Despite the self-deprecating lyrics which are almost a parody of Anderson, “Love Is Dead” is a more than decent comeback. Let's wait for the album now, and see if he can pull out the goods. Who knows, maybe he'll do a Morrissey.
