Razorlight - I Can’t Stop This Feeling I’ve Got

2006 was quite an eventful year for Anglo-Swedish crossover rockers Razorlight. By the looks of it, 2007 isn't going to let them put their feet up either. Whether this is due to the assertive influence down at Vertigo or of their own merit, I believe this is the fourth single from their critically approbated sophomore effort, so with most punters likely to be interested having already heard this, do I really need to go into detail? Well, just for those living under the proverbial rock or waking from a five-year coma; here comes the word vomit…

Extremely well produced - and indeed performed - “I Can't Stop This Feeling I've Got” encompasses every slight, every nuance and incorporates every element to Razorlight's musical make up. Lofty Supergrass-like guitars, lightning paced chord jumping, open-high-hat cymbal crashing and soft, breezy vocals that swan over the feather-weight progression with the refinement and grace of an eagle.

In my opinion, one of the better tracks on offer from their self-titled second release (Christ, if I hear the despondent opening of “America” once more…) “I Cant Stop…” demonstrates in three thoroughly enjoyable minutes how easy it is for Razorlight to deliver. Which is why they will still be soaring the skies of commercial success when their competitors are unable to flap their wings. That is if Johnny Borrell can drop the hackneyed lyrics and predicable vocal lines of course.
