The Hours - Ali In The Jungle

The Hours are a Sheffield born quintet who are looking to reach the nation's attention with 'Ali In The jungle', their fourth release. Lifted from debut album 'Narcissus Road', the track has been a single of the week for both Jo Whiley and Zane Lowe and Britart icon and all round affable bloke Damien Hirst is a big fan.

The song itself is strong stuff - a well produced, well written and superbly arranged mix of indie and rock's softer side, the track makes intelligent use of a piano, which in tandem with a slightly driven guitar, gives the song a sense of wanting to explode without being too obvious. The understated chorus is not a bombastic sing-along, it's a cry to get up and get on with life despite the negative events that life throws.

A big statement from an impressive group, 'Ali In The Jungle' is sure to win over many more fans and like Ali himself, the song floats as elegantly as a butterfly without stinging too hard.
