Panic! At The Disco - But It's Better If You Do
Georgie O'Toole 01/05/2006
Rating: 2/5
If you like Panic! At the Disco then you'll like this. It's as simple as that. If you haven't heard Panic! At the disco then you must either have a) been living under a rock with no radio for the past few months or b) deliberately avoided them because they're far too 'scene'. And it cannot be denied that the band have the 'emo-gypsy-electro-piano-tinged -Las-Vegas-carnival ' brand down to a tee.
The song itself is nothing new, particularly if you're familiar with the band. Sure to be overplayed , a complicated storyline makes it slightly more interesting than that of your average American upstarts cashing in on the music industries waning interest in cockney accents. After the uproarious success and overnight fanbase accumulated thanks to digital-only release 'I Write Sins Not Tragedies' back in January (to it's credit, due partly to the Myspace revolution) this quartet looks set to conquer the UK faster than you can say 'The Killers'. Pleasant enough, but the best thing about this band is their website (which is truly fabulous if you can stand the loading times) which says it all, really.
