Sunderland's finest “The Futureheads” make a welcome return to the fold 18 months after their previous release with the excellent new single “The Beginning of the Twist”.

After a disappointing second album (it entered the charts at number 12 only one place lower than their previous effort) which was panned by critics and led to their label dropping them, The Futureheads have returned to the edgy punk sound of their 2004 self titled debut.

"The Beginning Of The Twist" is the brilliant opener to their soon to be released third album. Bursting into life with crashing drums and an infectious beat, the lyrics “It's time to wake up, it's time to change”, hint strongly at the heavily criticised second album, and possibly the label dropping. The song maintains a frenetic pace throughout with some really sharp, witty lyrics delivered by frontman Barry Hyde, and is sure to be a massive hit live with fans.

If “The Beginning of the Twist” is a sign of things to come from forthcoming album “This Is Not The World”, it could well be one of the best things to be released this year.
