Apparently 'The Spinto Band' means something really funny in Norwegian. I couldn't possibly tell you what since I have no idea, but there's something for you lucky readers to explore. Regardless of the possibly hilarity of their name, 'Did I tell You' is a boppy little treat for the ears wrapped in tinkling pianos and staccato singing that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

In this single, The Spinto Band have produced a darting, springily paced ditty that makes you want to think of as many different words for 'bouncy' to describe it as you possibly can, because by the end of it you're bound to be jumping around. Melodic indie-pop with a tinge of bitter-sweet heartbreak, the band are certainly not misplaced on their upcoming tour supporting the Mystery Jets. Combined with upcoming festival appearances, this six-piece are set to be one of 2006's underdog triumphs, particularly if their eagerly anticipated album turns out to be as special as the hype suggests. Ones to watch.
