Zero 7, Jose Gonzales - Futures

A sure sign that the cold winter months are behind us, Zero 7 release a single from their new album 'The Garden' scheduled for release on May 15th which sees the return of Sia Furler and a debut from their own Henry Binns.
Binns, together with Sam Hardaker, are adept at creating instantly recognisable and unique sounds. On this, the first single, they bring in melancholic newcomer Jose Gonzalez. His soothing vocals and acoustic guitar are a well-suited collaboration, asking the question why they haven't worked together before.
Retaining their familiar dreamy melody they venture into Simon & Garfunkel territory albeit modernly textured with synths soaring overhead. Tranquil vocals marry elegance and delicacy on a beautiful sound yearning for summer.
A perfect choice, but without Gonzalez, they don't seem to have developed or moved forward as initially suggested for their newest project.
