It's been a while since really-quite-good-post-punk-synth-oddities Clor broke up. Singer Barry Dobbin has been dabbling in the odd remix every so often since then under the moniker of Barringtone, but now the release of his debut single 'Snake In The Grass' is upon us. And as you'd expect given his former band, it's typically bizarre.

Sounding like the bastard offspring of Devo, The White Noise and Alphabeat, 'Snake In The Grass' isn't the usual brand of electro-pop. You won't hear it on a breakfast show - by all standards it's a structureless mess but, inexplicably, quite likeable, with overblown glam guitar riffs and happy-happy vocals being endearing rather than grating, courtesy of Simian Mobile Disco's Jas Shaw's production.

Over before nothing much really happens, you'll probably either wonder what the fuck you've just spent the last two minutes listening to or you'll declare it the best thing since Oingo Boingo
