To paraphrase a line from this single Hold On Hold On, compared to some she's been around but Marianne Faithfull certainly hasn't lost her touch. The London-born chanteuse is over 50 years into her career now and shows no signs of letting up. This latest installment of her works is taken from last year's long player Easy Come, Easy Go, features Cat Power and is a cover by ex-New Pornographer Neko Case. Faithfull makes the track her own though, with her husky vocals adding a deep-rooted sense of emotion and longing that you can really believe. What makes Faithfull a true star is the ability to own any and every song she lends her talents to, with this sounding more like her own than it ever did with Case.
