Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll

Heads Will Roll, is the second single to be released from Yeah Yeah Yeahs' scorching It's Blitz album. Following on from the soaring electro-dance tones of Zero, it too packs a punch with gradually building and distorted, jagged riffs and the kind of infectious chorus-line YYY's are renowned for, belting out renditions of Off with your head/dance 'til your dead. The production is simple and despite being a little repetitive allows for the vocals to impress.

Twinned with the brilliant album version of the single is a club-like remix that those pesky Passion Pit kids have come up with, adding stirring, echoing samples of Karen O's vocals and a rough, edgy bassline. It's not a bad attempt managing to achieve what many remixes don't, some semblance of the original material (see Bloc Party's Intimacy Remixed). Both versions are catchy although there is still better material on the album to come.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be performing at several festivals this summer including T in the Park, Oxegen, Reading, Leeds and will also be embarking on a UK Tour in November/December calling in at Leeds, London, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Bournemouth.
