Acid Washed - General Motors, Detroit, America

This is the kind of trite I've come to expect from supremely brainwashed DJs who have consumed way too much acid in the past. Ironically, the musicians in question have decided upon the name Acid Washed for this, their dance project. Parisian "pioneers" Richard d'Alpert and Andrew Claristidge have definitely bathed in the stuff at some point in their lives.

The best that can be said of single 'General Motors, Detroit, America' is that it holds a steady rhythm, although I don't doubt a machine has helped them to achieve such a musical accomplishment. There's no girth, no bass-line fuzz, as promised. At the core of it all, there's barely a song, more an extended ringtone. It's utterly un-stimulating; even if I were on pills, I'd be liable to fall asleep.

The video that proudly accompanies the single is as mind numbingly dull, and replicates Windows 98's old screen saver. You know, the one where the squiggly line formulates maze after maze - hypnotic, but not worth the bandwidth.
