Blue Eyed Shark Experiment - Tapdance

It's interesting to see that the Blued Eyed Shark (as he likes to be known) doesn't show his face in any of his press shots. The smart money is that he thinks it's mysterious and enigmatic. But maybe he's just embarrassed.

In the competition for 'most annoying track of 2010' 'Tapdance' wins hands down. There's been some stiff competition, sure: anything by N-Dubz, Tinchy Stryder or other 'grime' artists and that one by Jedward (although it was worth it to see Vanilla Ice again wasn't it?), but by Jove he's done it.

The honky-tonk piano (with the emphasis on the 'honky') that opens the track is reminiscent of the lamest parts of Queen, his lazy drawl resembles Transformer-era Lou Reed but without the dry charm or production by David Bowie, and the lyrics are both abominable and irritating: "I found you went away / on your jet aeroplane / you crossed the world to southern Spain."

In the inimitable style of Simon Cowell, I don't say these things to be cruel. I'm sure there are plenty of people that enjoy the music of Blue Eyed Shark Experiment - I'm just not one of them.
