Cults - Go Outside

The image of frolicking in a meadow and other such romantic and innocent activities comes to mind when you listen to Cults debut single Go Outside. This two piece boy/girl duo have created something that really puts you into a trance. If you are looking for something gritty or edgy, I would turn in the other direction because this song is all clouds and happiness. If, however, you are looking for something mellow and uplifting then this is a perfect choice. It's the type of song you would crave after a day of stress.

The introduction completely draws you in with a dreamy little glockenspiel melody to sway along to. The child-like vocals, that manage to sound almost tribal, are hypnotic and damn catchy. It's a song that will undoubtedly be stuck in your head for the rest of the day. All of the elements of the song come together, creating something fresh and new but also current with a massive likeability factor.

Cults have managed to produce a mesmerizing pop song. It is quirky yet it would fit comfortably in the charts. The double-act from Brooklyn is set to be a big success this year in the UK and it's an ambition that is well within their reach. The debut single, Go Outside, out February 20th, is the type of breezy song that will be seen on many TV adverts and indie films in it's future.
