After returning to the music world with the sheer brilliance of Feel Good Inc, new single DARE is less immediate, but damn near almost as good. Featuring Shaun Ryder as guest vocalist, and with a deceptively simple 80s synth sound, Damon Albarn's falsetto vocals front an unassuming but suddenly catchy offering of electro-pop, a genre that the Gorillaz are rapidly becoming masters of. Although it's not released for three weeks, it sticks in your head and four years after the highs and lows of their debut '2001', DARE goes some way to proving that the Gorillaz now have the ability to produce consistently high quality music.
