Assembly Now - It's Magnetic

Rating: 4/5

Sounding like both some kind of Fall Out Boy type emo guitar band and the more indie Pop Punk of Ash, 'It's Magnetic' from Assembly Now, bursts into earshot and rattles along with twice the exuberance of the above groups. Twiddly Blink 182 lead guitars race around the background - giving you the same kind of childish excitement as pushing your Scalextric car just that bit too far and jumping it off the track - while the fast paced, barely getting the words out vocals from frontman Gavin remind of the stutter-y style of Kele from Bloc Party. AA-Side 'Out On 24's' is pleasingly energetic New Wave riot too.

Championed by both John Kennedy (XFM) and Steve Lamacq (6Music), expect to hear Assembly Now being seized upon by second in line for new music DJ's Whiley and Bowman on that bigger radio station in the near future.

'It's Magnetic' is released on 7" (limited to 1000 copies) through Kids Records on August 28th
