Based on the 1981 Broadway musical comes Dreamgirls. With the recent nominations, one would have high expectations, however this is not the case. Granted, Eddie Murphy gives excellent vocal work as well as portraying all the facets of a drug addled celebrity, however the remainder characters reside in stereotype and are not explored enough. Generic and dull.
