Me My Head, The Race
Rod Kitson 25/09/2008
On the eve of inking a major label deal with guitarist Dave Lightfoot's previous outfit, The Moths, singer James Fox lost his bottle and did a runner. One new singer later and Me My Head's regulation synths 'n' Tele may not be a massive departure, but the army of fans packed in tonight aren't bothered by tomorrow's zeitgeist or chin scratching math-letes.
Well drilled from touring, the west London five-piece's gleeful return to the capital sees them hammer out a break-neck set, which culminates in bombastic closer Watch The Sun. With obvious momentum, current single and live favourite, Damage is Done sells the last of 500 copies tonight, and counts XFM\'s John Kennedy among its patrons. Granted they won't divide opinion like Razorlight's new single, but with songs as strong as this they're doing enough to stay abreast - if not ahead - of the pack.
