Pull Tiger Tail - Let’s Lightning

These days it seems like there's at least a handful of new jangly yet catchy indie bands being hyped up each week; most sound disappointingly similar so much so that standing out can be incredibly difficult. One group to be bandied around as a next big thing for a while now, Pull Tiger Tail, seem to be achieving that goal. Having signed to B-Unique last year, the first half of 2007 already has them chalking up a recent support slot for Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, the Myspace Bleep Bleep tour, Camden Crawl and the NME New Music tour.

With songs as infectious as 'Let's Lightning' it's hard to see them having anything but a successful future. With plenty of stop-start energy and dynamic changes, this single contains more than enough punch to make you sit up and take notice. But this is combined with the kind of catchy melody and sing-along lyrics that will stay in your head all day.

With every listen 'Let's Lightning' reveals extra layers hidden under the immediate maelstrom of guitars and crashing drums. There are moments when singer Marcus Ratcliff's vocals have a definite hint of Boy Kill Boy's Chris Peck to them, which seems apt given that on this evidence it seems likely that Pull Tiger Tail will follow in their footsteps and capture a slice of commercial success.
