3 Mile High - Always Watching

Life is short, perhaps too short to be reviewing such flagrantly over-wrought, commercial pop-rock nonsense like “Always Watching” the new single from the decidedly un-modest 3 Mile High. “The best live band ever” says A.N. Publicist without the slightest hint of irony. This may be true for all I know but on the basis of this record I've got them pinned as the most clinically dull (American influenced) pop rock band I've encountered on my travels thus far. This reviewer is totally bemused as to why anyone would model themselves on Yellowcard and The All American Rejects when there are so many better sources out there to plunder from. Needless to say this is a forgettable, bland affair that lacks the irreverent charms of the genre's best purveyors (Everclear, Weezer, Foo Fighters etc.) and most importantly catchy tunes.
