Spector - There She Goes/Shine

This makes me think of the glut of also-ran guitar man bands in the mid 90s. I'm taken back to the defunct magazine called Sessions, which featured bands like the one that the third Gallagher brother managed (Brubaker, I think they were called). Bands so bland and ordinary in their fretwork that the fuzzed swathes of serrated 60s guitars washed over you, all whirled into one big guitar howl of homogeneity.

There are hints of pleasant 60s harmonic vocals in Spector's second track, Shine, but otherwise I'm not taken. Maybe it works better live, but on record the sound is just so swollen, hazy, messy, and above all non-descript.
