Black Christmas is the new cleaned up single version of a song that I first reviewed over two years ago. When it appeared on Welsh indie band The International Plus' rather ace Karate Kills E.P. It rumbles along all fizzing pixies guitars, a languid wintry vocal in the verses that explodes into an insanely tuneful Pavement-esque anti-Christmas song in the chorus. (“I'm hanging out with my friends/I guess it's gonna be another Black Christmas again”) The antidote to all that awful Paul McCartney and Cliff Richard Xmas musical fare that you shall no doubt be subjected to in the coming weeks! Released on FF vinyl it comes in a snazzy black vinyl and is available on Karma download too - you can't say fairer than that.
